About The Nancy Johnson Group
Few Dallas realtors can hold a candle to Nancy Johnson in residential real estate. With 16 years of experience, this veteran professional is among the top echelon of DMagazine’s Top Producers. Even though “Johnson” is a common name, Nancy Johnson is an uncommonly successful realtor. Her name alone has become the brand that sells. Nancy concentrates on established and distinctive Dallas neighborhoods, those special pockets of the city with a small town feel, including Lakewood, M Streets, Hollywood Heights, Casa Linda, Park Cities, Preston Hollow, and Lake Highlands. Drive around those neighborhoods to see multiple “Sold” signs. In 2015 alone, there were an astounding 98.
Nancy didn’t earn her inestimable reputation by merely placing “For Sale” signs in yards. She achieves this level of success by making each client her number one priority. She views her role in real estate as a guide, illuminating the processes of buying and selling for clients, steering each through the complexities of ever changing markets. After listening carefully to clients’ needs and concerns, she formulates uniquely tailored plans for potential homeowners and sellers. Drawing on her extensive background in residential property and her business savvy, Nancy Johnson’s informed plans invariably result in maximum value for her clients.
While financial advising is critical in real estate transactions, it is still only part of the whole picture. Renovating, decorating, staging, and advising on paint colors are all part Nancy Johnson’s full-service package to show a home in its best light. Properties without this kind of attention to detail often languish on the market, but that seldom happens with a “Nancy Johnson” listing.
After the closing, Nancy maintains longstanding relationships with her clients. “Friends become clients; clients become friends,” Johnson says. “Purchasing a home is one of the most significant financial investments of your life. It is tremendously rewarding to help guide clients through the home buying process, and then receive their Christmas cards with pictures of the houses you put them in.” Nancy also continues to assist her “friends” with retaining their homes’ value. Her tenure as a professional in the community has given her access to a network of quality service providers and remodelers, which she makes readily available.
Real estate expertise is not developed in a vacuum. A Lakewood local, Nancy is active in the Lakewood Women in Business, serves on the membership committee of the Lakewood Country Club, and is an active volunteer with the Wilkinson Center, Habitat for Humanity, and American Cancer Society. Married, with two adult children, she is also a runner and avid tennis player.
You might say real estate is in Alex Johnson’s blood, because she is Nancy Johnson’s daughter. Born in Dallas, Alex attended public and private schools in the city before she left to study at the University of Arkansas (UA). Determined to jumpstart her career in real estate, Alex graduated from UA in just three years with a BS in Marketing Management and a minor in Finance in Real Estate.
After graduation, she returned to Dallas and was welcomed into the family business by her mother. Eager to apply her real estate knowledge in the community where she grew up, Alex reconnected with a vast network of people. Due to her relentless work ethic, she soon began listing, staging, leasing, and selling homes.
Inspired by her mother to give back to her community, Alex also began volunteering. She coaches youth sports at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and is an active member of Paws in the City. Recreation for Alex includes jogging around White Rock Lake or playing at a dog park with her cocker spaniel, appropriately named Dallas. Alex’s commitment to her clients, her drive to succeed, and her extensive knowledge have helped lift the Nancy Johnson Real Estate Group to the upper echelon of real estate groups in the area.
It’s not an exaggeration to say that Amy’s clients L-O-V-E her. No doubt the Indianapolis native’s friendly, easy-going manner is a big part of her charm. She admits, “I’m really outgoing and love meeting new people. I can have a conversation with anyone.” But her clients’ fondness is just as likely rooted in her knowledge of the market, talent for getting into homes before they’re even listed, and absolute devotion to customer service.
After graduating with a marketing and advertising degree from Bradley University, a small liberal arts university in Peoria, Illinois, Amy found herself entering the job market just as the advertising industry crashed. Plan B meant she would work for Nordstrom until she could find a “real job.” It wasn’t long, though, before she caught the attention of Nordstrom executives and was promoted to manager. She quickly moved up through the ranks with stints in Indianapolis, Houston, and Dallas.
“When you’re a manager at Nordstrom, they let you run your own business,” she says. “It gave me a really good foundation for real estate because Nordstrom has such a commitment to exceptional customer service.” Still, retail wasn’t Amy’s passion, so she earned her real estate license in 2006, and has been devoted to what she considers her true professional calling ever since.
“There’s a lot of joy and satisfaction when you’re helping someone find a new home, a place that’s perfect for them,” Amy admits. “As they get to know me, they come to trust me and value my experience and advice. It’s an honor because, in most cases, they’re making one of their largest purchases ever.”
Bonding in a car while exploring a city has its advantages. Amy says she becomes friends with nearly all of her clients and sees them long after the ink has dried on buyer and seller contracts. “We go for drinks or brunch. I’m very involved with them beyond our real estate connection—which I love. Many of their children even call me “Aunt Amy.”
As a self-professed interior design enthusiast with a keen eye, Amy also offers valuable guidance to help sellers distinguish their properties in Dallas’ very competitive real estate market. “Every time I take a listing, I have a full meeting with the seller to talk about staging their home using their current furnishings, or bringing in other items, if needed.” she says. “Over the years, I found that simplicity is key when it comes to attracting buyers.”
Now part of the esteemed Nancy Johnson Group since January 2017, Amy is delighted to work alongside an industry juggernaut she has admired for quite some time. “As the number one agent in Dallas, Nancy is incredible,” Amy adds. “She has so many hip pocket listings and manages to get houses under contract before the general public even knows they’re on the market. Being part of her organization definitely gives me an advantage over many other agents.”
When she isn’t working, Amy enjoys checking out new restaurants and hot spots around Dallas with one of her many clients or friends. You’re also likely to spot her running in her Lakewood neighborhood with her three dogs. As often as she can, Amy absolutely loves traveling both internationally and within the states. Living up to her life mantra “work hard, play hard”, Amy is having fun doing both.
You can connect with Amy at 214-773-5570 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

“Working our magic on our listings so we can show a home in its best light is fun and rewarding”. Many clients respond,“we wish our house looked like this before we decided to sell!”
